2022 Lego Challenge Program

Registration for the Spring Lego Challenge Program closed on February 15.

This year's Lego Challenges incorporate games, vehicles, movement, life forms, and structures.  Hope you join us for some fun!

We are currently enrolling a limited 30 students for the Spring Lego Challenge Program.  Additional students will be waitlisted and accepted depending on availability of committed volunteers.  Priority will be given to students with volunteering parents/adults, for 5th grade students who will be graduating this year, and those first on the list.

The Lego Challenge Program is geared for students ages 5 and up and is held on campus on Mondays 3-4:30pm.  Students will be placed on teams of similar class, grade, and/or age.  ESS coordination will be provided.  Scholarships available to those who qualify.  Please contact us. 

Registration Benefits:

  • Sunset Hills Lego Club Spring Membership - 8 sessions beginning on March 7, 2022 and ending on May 2, 2022.

  • Snack - Students are encouraged to bring their own snack.   Additional snack choices available for free through school cafeteria supply.

  • Access to Club Equipment: Lego Club Lego, Lego Challenge specialty equipment, WeDo 2.0 Robotics kits and Chromebooks (depending on student ability and Challenge of the week). 

Please note that this is an educational program and students are asked to be engaged during the program time.   If you are a parent who is unsure of whether your child is suited for this program, please reach out to us. 

Volunteering:  Sunset Hills Lego Club is run entirely by SHES adult volunteers.  Due to limited parent volunteer staff, children of parent/related volunteers with appropriate volunteer credentials through the school office will receive priority registration.  You will be given an opportunity to volunteer during registration.

COVID Protocols:  

Various COVID-19 precautions will be used throughout the season.  This includes: 
1) All volunteers must comply with school rules regarding Covid-19 vaccination/testing and masking (even when outdoors) when working with students.  The standard PUSD volunteer requirements shall also be followed.  Compliance will be confirmed through the school office.
2) All activities/interactions will be held outdoors.
3) Students will be placed in stable teams of 4-6 students throughout the season.
4) Each team of 4-6 students will have their own tub of Lego.
5) Students will be required to use hand sanitizer or wash their hands in the restroom before starting their work.

6) School will be notified of student teams.

7) Students/families must notify us of any absences, including COVID-19 illness.

Registration for 2022 Lego Challenge Program:  $50 for 1st Child.  $35 for each additional child.
