This year 22 students from grades 2-5 formed 6 teams to participate in the Lego League Explore program, and 22 students from grades K-5 participated in the Lego Challenge program!  

Each team of 4 students has the following approximate costs:

• Westview High School FLL Expo Registration - $50

• FIRST Lego League Explore Set - $140

• League T-shirts (4) - $72

• Stationery - $10

• Snacks - $18

Additional/excess funds are used for the following purposes:

• Replacement and Upgrades for technology, e.g. tablets (~$120 each) and LEGO Spike Essential Kits (~$475 each)

• Replacement parts for LEGO Spike Essential Kit

• Miscellaneous supplies e.g. special LEGO (wheels, propellers, large base plates), bins, craft supplies to make a shake plate, etc...)

• Scholarships

• Support for Sunset Hills Elementary STEAM programs

This year we used approximately $1000 of our reserves to purchase Android tablets and cases.  The tablets are crucial to our program so that students are able to have a team device and seemlessly use and connect the LEGO Education SPIKE App with their LEGO Education SPIKE Essential robotics set.

At the end of the fiscal year on 6/30/2025, Sunset Hills Lego Club moved $2000 from its reserves to the Sunset Hills Education Foundation STEAM Fund to support all students at Sunset Hills Elementary for the 2025-2026 school year.  We thank the Sunset Hills Education Foundation for being our fiscal sponsor and providing $4000 of seed money at the time of our founding in 2019.
